Housing (Technical cell) Department acts as the State level technical cell and nodal department for the coordination and support for all the housing activities of the State of Kerala. The Department was formed by the Government of Kerala in 1980 with an objective of achieving technical excellence, proper planning and co-ordination in the activities of the housing sector.
Review of policies and programmes, technical guidance and data support for housing schemes and programmes, housing surveys for recommending housing standards, providing assistance with emerging needs and technologies in the housing sector are the main activities of the Department.
